Fostering a culture of tolerance through strengthening active citizenship engagement and celebrating diversity

The current uncertainty surrounding the political and economic transition in Egypt, combined with a weak culture of tolerance, dialogue or celebrating diversity, has contributed to the increase of social conflict across sectarian groups as well as people from the same religion. This project addresses the issue of inclusion and active civic engagement, focusing on the need of poor and marginalized communities in South of Cairo. The project will aim to foster democratic processes through building a more aware and active citizenship, enforcing tolerance and celebrating diversity. The process will commence with training youth leaders that will later be taking an active part in transforming their communities.
